NZIHL Game Day: Round 6

We’ve past the halfway point of the NZIHL season now and it’s time for round 6! Before the games start you can catch up with our preview of the weekend here.

The Dunedin Thunder are coming off a bye week with Joe Orr celebrating his 100th game in the league this Saturday. They will be up against a red-hot West Auckland Admirals side that hasn’t lost since going down in overtime to Dunedin back in round one. Now at home, the Admirals will face a Thunder side looking to repeat those efforts.

In the weekend’s other matchup, the struggling Canterbury Red Devils host the Botany Swarm, whom are also in desperate need of a couple wins this round. Perhaps Canterbury’s lively home crowd can spur the Devils back to life after a disappointing outing last round, while the Swarm will want to shake off their five-game losing streak. Two desperate teams out to prove themselves? That’s unmissable hockey!

Both sets of games play Saturday and Sunday at 4:40pm in a double-header with the games streaming live on the NZIHL’s YouTube channel. We also have them here for you!

Puck Yeah will be live tweeting over on the NZIHL’s official Twitter with GIFs of highlight plays throughout the games so you can relive the big goals and other highlight reel worthy moments – Saturday’s feature game will be Thunder v Admirals, while Sunday’s focus will shift to the Swarm v Red Devils.

Tune in, enjoy the games, and make sure you’re following the NZIHL on Instagram (@nzihl) for game prediction polls where you can select who you think will win.
